When we hear the phrase “Japanese Animations” we can’t help but think of the living legend himself, Hayao Miyazaki. The man behind all the classic Japanese animations that we grew up with and loved. Rivaling maybe even surpassing Walt Disney in story telling. Founding Ghibli who is responsible for the movies such as “My Neighbor Totoro“, “Ponyo“, “Grave of Fireflies“, the Oscar-winning “Spirited Away” and many more.
A special documentary with the association of the Japanese broadcaster NHK, 10 Years with Hayao Miyazaki is a very special film dedicated to featuring Miyazaki’s decade of work in the film making industry showing his creative process. It also showed the studio, his personal life and his relationship with Goro Miyazaki, his son who was reluctant at first to take on his father’s footsteps as a filmmaker but is now a respectable director.
The Documentary will be showing on NHK World as a four parts series and will be shown on these dates.
