BOB 10 films to watch this September 13 to 19

With seven feature films and three Sandaan showcase films, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is set to takeover Philippine cinemas for a week-long celebration of Philippine Cinema. And now on its third run, PPP film entries will be in cinemas nationwide this September 13 to 19, 2019!

Here’s a look at all the entries:

WATCH ME KILL

Starring Jean Garcia, Junyka M. Santarin, Jay Manalo, Rodolfo Muyuela and Althea Vega, and Directed by T.A. Acierto. The film is about the life of Luciana—a contract-killer whose life changed after saving a child she was supposed to kill.

 

THE PANTI SISTERS

A much-awaited ensemble of Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables, and Martin del Rosario following the success of Die Beautiful and Born Beautiful. The Panti Sisters is a story of three gay brothers who must fulfill the wish of their dying father—to give him a grandchild—in exchange of their inheritance. Also Directed by Jun Robles Lana.

 

OPEN

In their first ever team up, JC Santos and Arci Muñoz play a couple who have been together for 14 years but decide to explore the idea of going into an open relationship—with a strict rule not fall in love with strangers. The film is Directed by Andoy Ranay.

 

LSS

Real-life couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos are struggling dreamers in their 20s who discover what it means to grow up as they experience the joy and pain of love and loss. Accompanied by the music of Ben & Ben, ‘LSS’ is directed by Jade Castro.

 

I’M ELLENYA L

Maris Racal plays the typical millennial, Ellenya—whose life revolves around social media. With her desire to be famous, she ventures on creating content with the help of her family and her best friend Peng (played by Iñigo Pascual). Ellenya, however, goes viral for the wrong reasons.

Mccoy De Leon, Jameson Blake, Paulo Angeles, and Mark Oblea embark on a road trip which will make them realize the value of love, friendship, family, and life. Directed by Dondon Santos.

CUDDLE WEATHER

Sue Ramirez and RK Bagatsing star as an experience prostitute and a newbie call boy in the daring film, Cuddle Weather. Their odd romance started after meeting each other during a loud paid sex separately in adjacent motel rooms. But, what will happen if one of them begins to want more than just loveless lovemaking?

 

PAGBALIK

After working abroad, Rica (50s) comes home to stay with Choleng (85), her ageing mother, until she finds new work. She then learns what her mother has done all the years when she was working abroad. The movie stars Gloria Sevilla, Vince Ranillo, Suzette Ranillo, and Alora Sasam.

 

LOLA IGNA

A foul-mouthed and stubborn woman (Lola Igna) is eager to die. But her neighbors are hung up on her winning the title “the oldest living grandmother in the world.” While her long lost great-great-grandson, Tim, is an aspiring vlogger who wants to latch on to her now-famous grandma but ends up giving her a new reason to live. Lola Igna stars Angie Ferro, Yves Flores, Meryll Soriano, and Maria Isabel Lopez.

 

CIRCA

Doña Atang, a once celebrated film producer from the earlier years of Filipino cinema, celebrates her one hundredth birthday. And as her wish, he wants a reunion with all the actors and staff that she has worked with in the past. The film stars Anita Linda, Gina Alajar, Laurice Guillen, Jacyln Jose, Elizabeth Oropesa, Ricky Davao, and Enchong Dee with the special participation of Eddie Garcia.
