“Joker” by Todd Philips leads with 11 Oscars nominations which include, the best picture, best director and best actor for Joaquin Phoenix.
10 nominations each were given for Martin Scorsese’s mob epic “The Irishman,” Quentin Tarantino’s ode to Los Angeles “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and Sam Mendes’ war drama “1917”.
The directing category made noise online as female filmmakers were snub despite the efforts in diversifying the Academy’s membership.
The awarding will be on February 9.
