In relation to this, Troy Kotsur became the first deaf man to win an a Oscar when he took home the award for Best Supporting Actor.  CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) casts Kotsur playing Frank Rossi, the father of the film’s core family, who are all deaf apart for their youngest daughter.

 

In his speech, he said: “I want to thank all the wonderful deaf theater stages where I wa allowed and given the opportunity to develop my craft as an actor.”

In the recent Oscars ceremony, Liza and Lady Gaga co-presented the award for best picture. It was a very touching moment, and Lady Gaga was very professional and graceful, guiding the icon throughout the segment at times when she would be a little confused and lost. Francis Ford Coppola, Al Pacino, and Robert DeNiro, reunited on stage to celebrate The Godfather franchise. The iconic film series marks its 50th anniversary after the first film debuted.

The Godfather released its first installment in 1972. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo. The film’s cast include some of the most respected actors in history including: Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Richard Castellano, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden, John Marley, Richard Conte, and Diane Keaton.

 

Will Smith Slaps Chris Rock

 

 

Within minutes after comedian Chris Rock came onstage to present the Oscar for a documentary feature, he was slapped by Will Smith. Reason? He mentioned Jada Pinkett being  “G.I. Jane 2” in reference to her shaved head. When Smith returned to his seat, he yelled at Rock saying, “Keep my wife’s name out of your *toot* mouth!”
