Skadoosh! Everyone’s favorite kung fu-fighting panda is back! DreamWorks Animation introduces familiar faces and exciting new characters in a collection of Kung Fu Panda 4 posters ahead of its Philippine cinema release.
The Dragon Warrior is ready for another adventure!
After eight years since his last big-screen outing, Po returned in Kung Fu Panda 4, bringing his signature humor, impressive martial arts skills, and love for dumplings back to cinemas.
Ahead of its March 6, 2024 Philippine premiere, Universal Pictures unveiled new character posters featuring Po, his trusted friends, and some unexpected new faces.
The colorful posters gave fans a closer look at the characters joining the latest chapter of the beloved animated franchise.
Meet the Characters of Kung Fu Panda 4
The character posters celebrate the return of familiar favorites while introducing new allies and enemies who play important roles in Po’s next adventure.
Po Returns as the Dragon Warrior
Voiced once again by Jack Black, Po is no longer the inexperienced panda audiences first met in 2008.
After defeating some of the world’s most dangerous kung fu villains, he faces a completely different challenge: becoming the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace.
But there’s one small problem. Po isn’t quite ready to give up his role as the Dragon Warrior.
Before embracing his new responsibilities, he must find and train a worthy successor.
Zhen Joins the Adventure
One of the film’s newest characters is Zhen, a clever corsac fox voiced by Awkwafina.
Unlike Po, who has spent years protecting the Valley of Peace, Zhen is a skilled thief who relies on quick thinking and street smarts.
Their contrasting personalities create an entertaining partnership as they join forces to face a powerful new enemy.
Although they don’t always agree, Po soon discovers that Zhen has valuable abilities that could help save their world.
Chameleon Becomes Po’s Newest Enemy
Every great kung fu adventure needs a formidable villain, and Kung Fu Panda 4 introduces Chameleon, voiced by Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis.
This mysterious sorceress possesses the ability to transform into other creatures.
Her ultimate goal is to obtain Po’s Staff of Wisdom, allowing her to summon powerful villains from the Spirit Realm and steal their abilities.
With such a dangerous enemy threatening the Valley of Peace, Po must rely on his experience and unlikely new allies to stop her.
Master Shifu Returns
Dustin Hoffman reprises his role as Master Shifu, the wise and occasionally impatient kung fu teacher who helped transform Po into the Dragon Warrior.
In the fourth installment, Shifu encourages Po to embrace his next responsibility as a spiritual leader.
However, helping the enthusiastic panda accept change is never an easy task.
More Familiar Faces and New Characters
The film also welcomes back James Hong as Mr. Ping, Po’s adoptive father, and Bryan Cranston as Li Shan, his biological father.
Ian McShane returns as Tai Lung, the powerful snow leopard who challenged Po in the original movie.
Meanwhile, Ke Huy Quan joins the cast as Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves.
The newly released promotional artwork also features the mischievous Rabbit Trio, adding another dose of humor to the adventure.
What Is Kung Fu Panda 4 About?
After protecting the Valley of Peace through three extraordinary adventures, Po is finally asked to take the next step in his journey.
Instead of continuing as the Dragon Warrior, he must become a spiritual leader and help guide the next generation.
However, his transition is interrupted by Chameleon, a dangerous shapeshifting sorceress determined to gain control of Po’s powerful staff.
To stop her, Po teams up with Zhen and ventures beyond the familiar surroundings of the Valley of Peace.
Along the way, he learns important lessons about change, leadership, trust, and discovering heroes in unexpected places.
A New Chapter for the Beloved Animated Franchise
Since the release of the first Kung Fu Panda movie in 2008, the franchise has become known for its combination of action, comedy, and heartwarming storytelling.
Po’s journey from an enthusiastic noodle-shop worker to a legendary kung fu warrior has inspired audiences across generations.
With Kung Fu Panda 4, DreamWorks Animation continues that story while exploring what happens when a hero must learn to move forward.
Directed by Mike Mitchell and co-directed by Stephanie Ma Stine, the film offers another colorful adventure filled with martial arts action, memorable characters, and valuable life lessons.
