Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual star in the highly anticipated Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean drama series Flower of Evil. This series marks the second partnership between Viu and ABS-CBN, riding high off the success of their first partnership Broken Marriage Vow.
Premiering this June 23 and June 24 @ 8PM on Viu, and June 25, 2022 on Kapamilya Channel’s Yes Weekend! evening block. According to Direk Darnel Joy Villaflor, new and existing fans can expect the Philippine adaptation of Flower of Evil to keep the spine of the original story intact, along with major iconic scenes. However, the writers and directors infused the adaptation with authentic Filipino flavor and drama. The entire production is a mesmerizing showcase of Filipino artists. To add its own Filipino teleserye punch, we can expect that the mother-and-daughter story will be enhanced, and Piolo as Jacob the husband will have much more build-up compared to the South Korean series.
“My first day on set was difficult, kasi all of a sudden I’m IN a new environment. Everything’s new, everyone’s new. It was hard.”
Knowing there was an already established fan base, the actors faced enormous pressure to live up to the original series. It was spilled during the presscon that talks of “Piolo-Lovi” tandem started last 2017 in Italy during Vicky Belo’s wedding, and this series marks Lovi Poe’s first ever teleserye as a Kapamilya.
Moira Dela Torre recorded the theme song “Dito Ka Lang“, produced by Star Music executive Jonathan Manalo, translated from the original Korean theme song for Flower of Evil “In My Heart.”
