We weren’t even 10 minutes into the movie, and the theatre was already bursting with laughter and mind
you, that laughter stayed with us all the way outside. That’s how funny, beautiful, and chaotic Freakier
Friday is. It’s a true testament to the brilliance of the cast, especially Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
As someone who’s deeply sentimental about original characters especially when a film makes a sequel the
return of familiar faces, even for just brief moments, made my heart incredibly happy. It was so good to see
them again, and I could feel the nostalgia rushing in. It brought back the same magical feeling I had when
I first watched the original. Let’s be honest: ‘90s and 2000s movies have a special charm. They bring back
the happiness of that era every time you watch them.
As for the new characters, they were also fantastic and complemented the returning cast so well. You could
tell they had real chemistry and felt comfortable with each other on screen. Manny Jacinto was surprisingly
natural, and his chemistry with Lindsay Lohan was undeniably powerful. I hope they make more films
together.
Julia Butters, who played Harper, was the perfect choice to be Anna’s daughter. She reminded me so much
of Anna as a teenager always yelling, always frustrated but she absolutely nailed it. She truly captured
Anna’s spirit.
And of course, Lindsay and Jamie… what can I say? Maybe now it’s time for their Oscars? They once
again nailed their roles, slipping back into their characters so effortlessly. I don’t even know what else to
say the film was beautiful, chaotic, and we absolutely loved it for that.
Naturally, they switched bodies again, because there was a lesson to be learned. Humans experience all
kinds of emotions: simple, complicated, deep, but always beautiful. And sometimes, it’s hard to fully
understand them. But that’s what makes the story so powerful.
What makes this film truly special isn’t just the cast or the realistic performances, but also the wardrobe,
the music, and most importantly the message. It teaches us about love, understanding, respect, and the
importance of appreciating even the smallest things. Most of all, it reminds us of the value of being selfless
putting others first, seeing life through someone else’s eyes, and realizing that empathy is the key to stronger
relationships.
