Get ready to make the most of the movies during the Philippine National Cinema Day this September 12 for its once-a-year celebration of cinema!
One Industry. One Message. One Big Day.
Moviegoers across the country are invited to celebrate the joy of watching films on the big screen as the Philippine cinema industry launches the 1st Philippine National Cinema Day on September 12, 2026. For one day only, participating cinemas nationwide will offer ₱100 admission tickets for Regular 2D Cinemas, giving
Filipinos the chance to enjoy the latest blockbuster films, family favorites, local productions, and international releases at an affordable price.
Organized by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) together with industry and government partners, “National Cinema Day” marks the first time cinema exhibitors across the Philippines are coming together under a single nationwide campaign dedicated to celebrating the moviegoing experience.
“This is more than a promotional event. It is a nationwide celebration of cinema and an invitation for Filipinos of all ages to experience the excitement, emotion, and community of watching movies on the big screen,” CEAP President Irene L. Jose said in a statement.
A Cinema Experience Within Reach of Every Filipino
With admission priced at only ₱100 in participating Regular 2D Cinemas, “National Cinema Day” aims to make moviegoing more accessible to families, friends, students, and movie lovers across the country at a fraction of the usual cost.
Even more exciting, the special “National Cinema Day” admission price will apply to all movies scheduled for exhibition on September 12, whether local or international, subject to MTRCB classifications and cinema schedules.
A Historic Industry-Wide Effort
“National Cinema Day” represents an unprecedented collaboration among cinema operators, industry stakeholders, and government partners in support of Philippine moviegoing. The initiative is supported by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), and the Metro Manila Film Festival through the MMDA.
By uniting behind a common goal, the industry hopes to create a nationwide celebration that reminds audiences of the unique experience that only cinemas can provide, from giant screens and immersive sound to the shared excitement of watching a film with a live audience.
Movie fans are encouraged to secure their seats early as advance ticket sales will officially begin on September 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets may be purchased
through participating cinema box offices, official websites, mobile applications, and authorized ticketing platforms.
Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and remain subject to theater capacity.
